New Google Tool Finds Duplicate Content
Google webmaster tools has a new message alert to let website owners know when a certain URL doesn’t appear because Google sees it as a duplicate URL on a different domain. In their blog post, Google announced the new feature and gives the details on how they identify duplicates of content and how they choose the “canonical” version to display in search results.
This new alert is available within the Google Webmaster message center. You will only see it Google has tagged content as duplicate and they are only reporting on the URLs from the Top Pages report. This is feature is great for webmasters who would otherwise have no idea why a particular page does not appear in search results.
