BuilderPR is now accepting article submissions! If you have a press release, feature story, or news item, you can now share those with our blog – and potentially be featured on our website.
The Submission Process
Article submissions should be e-mailed to email@example.com. Please keep these guidelines in mind:
- Submit the press release in Word doc or PDF format. Please do not type your release into the body of the e-mail.
- Press releases must be related to homebuilding, the homebuilder industry, or builder marketing.
- It is up to the website admin which press releases will or will not be posted.
- Once a press release is received, please allow 5-10 business days before the release is approved or denied. If approved, we will schedule it to be posted within 2-3 days of approval.
- BuilderPR does not offer payment for press releases or proposed articles.
Got some interesting ideas, but don’t know where to start? Here are our top ten tips for writing blog content.
- Aim for a word count of 250-300 words minimum.
- Use images to add interest! BuilderPR sets a “featured image” at the top of the post – if you have a specific photo to include (that you have the rights to share), send it over. Or, pick a free stock photo from sites like Pexels or Stockio.
- Headers are your friend. They organize your content and keep it easy for readers to follow.
- Don’t shy away from numbered or bulleted lists – like headers, they also organize the flow of your writing.
- Keep sentences short and sweet. Blogging is all about keeping it simple.
- Cut the jargon. Don’t use big words just for the sake of using them. If you throw one in, be sure to define it or make sure it’s a commonly used phrase in your industry.
- Use the active voice as much as possible.
- Keep it conversational. You’re much more likely to connect with readers if your writing feels like a conversation and not an analytical report.
- Think outside the box. Sure, there are a thousand articles about home maintenance. But how does your personal twist make it stand out?
- Keep a topic list. You never know when an idea will strike, so keep a running list of potential blog topics! That way, you’ll have a set list of ideas to use instead of trying to come up with one on the spot.
