DSLD Homes Awarded Builder of the Year

Category: Builder Spotlight | Author: Emilee Eveler | Posted: December 05, 2011

This has been an extraordinary year for DSLD Homes, located in Louisiana and Mississippi. They received Professional Builder’s 2011 Builder of the Year award and have grown to building over 700 homes a year. Founded only 3 years ago by Saun Sullivan and 5 partners, DSLD Homes has risen to the top and endured the market crash and economic pressure. They also had to overcome the normal obstacles that face new building companies — convincing suppliers, trade contractors, building inspectors, Realtors, and developers that DSLD was as good as its word. From the beginning, the vision was to create a very tight, fundamentally sound, production home-building operation.

Sullivan and his colleagues came into the market with an extremely well informed local knowledge of the best neighborhoods, school districts, and other places where homes would sell relatively quickly. They fused that knowledge with a devotion to keeping their word with all of their partners to develop a positive reputation that could eventually become their hallmark. By creating good partnerships with trade contractors, Realtors, and in every other part of their business, three-year-old DSLD behaves as if there remains for them a lot to prove to themselves and the market. When asked when the company will begin to feel more secure with its place in the market, Sullivan indicates that that day is still way out on the horizon.

Dallas New Homes: How Does Castle Hills Stand Out?

Category: Builder Spotlight | Author: Racheal Ashley | Posted: November 08, 2010

By now, buyers know there is no shortage of Dallas master planned community choices. The trick is learning which ones meet your high caliber standards. We know of one that does: Castle Hills, named Community of the Year by the Dallas Homebuilders Association.

What’s so special about Castle Hills? The 2,500-acre master-planned golf course community west of the Tollway and Park Blvd. is one of the premier residential golf communities in North Texas; that’s right, these Dallas new homes west of Plano are surrounded by an 18 hold Jay Morrish designed golf course and country club – one with dining, pro shop, meeting rooms and a teaching academy.

But golf isn’t the only selling point for this superior Dallas master planned community. Throughout Castle Hills, there are parks, lakes, a hike-and-bike trail and community centers with swimming pools, basketball and tennis courts, fitness rooms, ball fields and more. Sound like somewhere you’d like to live? Of course it does! In fact, this lifestyle is so covetable that there is actually a Castle Hills movie in production as we speak (yes, really!).

Although the Dallas new homes of Castle Hills top out at $2 million, there is an accessible buyer entry point for those of us on a middle income budget; that’s right, you can own at Castle Hills starting in the $200’s. For more information, contact the office of this Dallas master planned community at (214) 559-9233.
